My name is Aelita, and photography is my greatest passion. I grew up in Varna and am currently based in Sofia, Bulgaria.
My journey into photography began right after high school when I bought my first camera. What started as a hobby—capturing anything and everything that caught my eye—gradually evolved into photographing friends and acquaintances. As my interest grew, I dedicated myself to self-education, devouring books and videos to hone my craft. I am also deeply grateful to the more experienced colleagues I met along the way for the invaluable knowledge they shared with me. Eventually, my hobby blossomed into a profession, and I couldn’t be happier.
In 2021, I earned my Master’s Degree in Photographic Art from the New Bulgarian University. My diploma project, titled “Mental Health,” consisted of an exhibition of 25 works. The project was divided into two distinct parts:
Portraits: Featuring individuals who have experienced or are currently navigating various mental health challenges.
Artistic Interpretation: A visual exploration of the emotions, feelings, and sensations that arise from the struggle with mental health.
